degradation & subordination
self-exploitation gifted to us. structural violence, all eyes kept shut. the breaking wheel, timeless void, cursed to endure, your idea of living. waiting in line for the end of uselessness, waiting to be denied the right for self-determination. bow down and beg for a purpose, bound in chains, obedient to the end. witness the demise of freedom, watch us accept the fate of modern slavery. on your knees, still smiling, you have given in. I am the architect of my own fortune, all I have to offer is the value of my time. no chance to live self-paced and free of your torment, I do not bend my knee to your heresy. waiting in line for the end of uselessness, waiting to be denied the right for self-determination. the notion that we are free, their life insurance, their weapon. bred to serve them.

Gaerea's first release of "Unsettling Whispers" was in 2018, and since, they dared define a "black metal" niche of their own, they dared to walk a new path and stir shit up a bit in the realm of BM, this album is a masterpiece and a milestone proving that it can be done, provided the band can pull it off, and they did, oh they did! Gloomy, dark, post-BM sludgy whatever, it's Gaerea, and this one belongs in my BC collection, the end. sachavonkarl74

The atmosphere of this album is fantastic. Makes you feel like you're knee-deep in the trenches drenched in mud, filth, sweat, and blood. Truly encapsulates the horrors of World War I, and the fact that the lyrics of some of the songs are taken from old war letters really adds to the authenticity.
